Duraflame STAX

Do you have stacks of firewood in your backyard that need to be chopped and then made for kindling? If you are normally like us, my husband spends about 30 minutes outside getting wood ready for one night’s fire. Then coming in, we spend another 10 minutes bunching up newspaper and igniting the kindling to get the logs started. Often, the wood is damp from the winter weather, so then we have to add more time to finding dry wood…by then, “forget it!”The heater and a heavy blanket is the answer.

We were introduced to Duraflame Stax, the easy-lighting convenience of firelogs with the ability to stack like a wood fire, AND that are a clean-burning log made from 100% renewable resources!! One 3-log pack is good for one night’s fire and is equal to 25-30lbs of seasonal firewood.

Our Take: I’m so impressed! The other night when my husband was at basketball practice, I wanted to surprise him with a fire. A regular fire would be near impossible for me to keep going, let alone start! So I grabbed my Duraflame Stax and read the directions. We have a wood-burning stove, which they have separate instructions for and I followed step-by-step. Literally in about 4 minutes I had started the fire and was done. My husband couldn’t have been prouder! Nothing to poke, no paper to crinkle, no kindling to start, no dealing with wet wood. Criss-cross the logs and light them, that’s it! After an hour or two, I added the third log and we had a roaring fire! I worried that there would be a strange scent, not knowing what to expect. There wasn’t, just tons of heat! Now we live in Central CA, so buying Duraflame Stax can tend to get expensive for every day, but we make fires in our stove about 3-4 times a month and the time and efficiency of it is so worth it!

Here’s a quick video to show you how easy it can be!

You can use Stax in fireplaces, woodstoves, and outdoor firepits all year-round. Is it better than natural firewood?
-it produces significantly fewer polluntants
-easy to light
-less logs need for a similar duration fire
-clean to handle and easy to store

A 3-pack of Stax can be found at many grocery store chains and places like Target and WalMart for $9.99.

I have 2 coupons to giveaway to 2 lucky readers of The Mom Reviews good for a FREE 3-pack of Duraflame Stax!
