The Mom Reviews

*contest closed* Go Diego Go and Dora DVD’s & CD *GIVEAWAY*

Dora and Diego are back with more fun adventures, educational shows, and Spanish language learning, read on for some great early Christmas ideas for the children in your life.

Go, Diego, Go!: Diego’s Arctic Rescue

(retail $13.49)
In the newest DVD release, Diego embarks on the journey of a lifetime to save the baby polar bear in the all-new feature-length adventure. The DVD also includes two bonus episodes, as well as a “Diego’s Animal Adventures” featurette.

Our Take: My oldest son (8) actually loved watching this show with my 3 year old. Recently he’d been reading a story and learning about Puffins and a bonus show, “Puffin Fishing Adventure” peaked both kid’s interest! The kids and I enjoy this cartoon and that it really gives a lot of information on animals we don’t know much about unless we’re watching the Discovery Channel. It’s an adorable show with a lot of educational info that I have come to appreciate from Nickelodeon shows!

Dora’s Christmas CD
(retail $12.99)
Preschoolers can share the holiday spirit with Dora and her adventure-loving pals as Nickelodeon and Sony Music Entertainment release the CD, Dora’s Christmas. Available in stores nationwide and on iTunes on Tuesday, Sept. 15, this perfect stocking stuffer includes 16 new holiday songs performed by the world’s most beloved Latina heroine, Dora the Explorer. The disc features classic carols with a Latin twist, including “Deck the Halls,” “Jingle Bells” and “Santa Claus Is Coming Aquí!” The CD also includes bonus songs from Nickelodeon’s upcoming TV special, “Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure.”

Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom DVD
(retail $14.99)
Enter the magical, musical world of the Crystal Kingdom in the all-new Nickelodeon feature-length adventure Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom. Along with this never-before-seen title episode, the DVD includes two additional adventures from the top-rated preschool series.

In Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom, Dora continues her magical storybook adventure from last fall (“Dora Saves the Snow Princess”), when the magic crystal that the Snow Princess gave her brings to life another character in her storybook – Allie of the Crystal Kingdom. A greedy king has stolen the crystals that give Allie’s kingdom color. Dora and Boots must help Allie locate the crystals and turn the pale gray kingdom back into a colorful wonderland before it’s too late.

Our Take: Another great Dora adventure, and all fantasy that keeps kids wanting to watch over and over again, like my 3 year old. In a second episode, “First Day of School” Boots and Tico encounter their first day of school, just as my daughter has just started preschool. She really got into learning Spanish words and relating to this particiular episode. She’s already talking about taking her DVD to the next Share Day at school!

Thanks to Ashley at BHImpact for the opportunity for review and she’s so fabulous to offer a Dora Christmas CD and copy of the DVD Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom AND Diego’s Arctic Rescue for one of my lucky readers of The Mom Reviews!!
