*contest closed*Mommy Confidence–8 Easy Steps to Reclaiming Balance, Motivation, and Your Inner Diva *Giveaway*
Just checking out the cover of Kimberley Clayton Blaines’s new book, Mommy Confidence-8 Easy Steps to Reclaiming Balance, Motivation and Your Inner Diva , made me eager to jump into her book. What mom doesn’t want to feel empowered, find balance, and get a chance to relax?! Also, inside the front cover is the author in a meditative pose inside her child’s crib, parenting with a hint of humor. My kind of book!
Grab your favorite comfort-snack and curl up with this book to find your true self in 8 simple steps. The book is so reader-friendly you could very well multi-task with your children around you. Each chapter is short, yet concise, and ends with Words of Mommy Wisdom.
Half way through the book, I found myself loving chapter 4. I’m a obsesser, particularly about my body after babies. The solution?! FAKE IT. There is always time to change your body if you work at it, but our children learn valuable lessons from their moms, and exuding confidence is something kids pick up on and take with them. Kimberley refers to it as “brain pampering [not washing, lol]” Give up on the self-pity and the negativity and convince yourself you are the super model you dream to be. From now on, no more tummy-tuck talk, my belly is hot!
Truly the empowerment I felt after reading the book was exciting. I wish I had this book 10 years ago after my first child.
With wit and humor, and plenty of experience, Kimberley Clayton Blaine’s Mommy Confidence is the ultimate guide book for all women to live by to lead a happy, sane life. They should really pass these out at the hospital following childbirth!!

I really wish that I could tell you how I maintain balance…sigh…but, alas, there is no balance to be found in this household. I have a three-year-old, a two-year-old, a one-year-old, and, as of last week, a 65-year-old mother who has just been diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Can I tell you how I maintain my sanity instead? Marry a good man, like I did, and be grateful for every little thing that you can think of. Oh, and chocolate helps too.

I have 3 kids 4 and under and for me I have to take a little time for myself everyday. I sit and read a book (or my fav blogs) and the kids have to do something ELSE!
Seriously? I maintain my balance by being sure to take time for me each day, whether it’s reading a book, working on my blog, etc. And, I take time weekly to dedicate to my hobby (photography). Ok, maybe it’s more than once a week….and maybe I’m taking TOO much time for myself.
This sounds like a great book!
My sister just became a mother again for the third time in 3 1/2 years and well I don’t think that she has had any time other than the moment her or there for herself since the first one of the three boys was born. She can use all the help she can get.
i try to stick to my daily planner as much as possible
i get up and go out- even when its cold and watch the sunrise- often I have not gone to sleep yet but i go out and watch and play with the dogs- have a cup of tea, and thank God for another day
I try to take a few minutes for me everyday just to unwind!
wow, maintain balance? um yeah. I try to balance just myself. If I notice I am getting to serious or too fed up with the kids I lighten the mood by playing. A quick game lifts everyones spirits and gets me in a better frame of mind.
I try to stick to my schedule everyday and take some time for myself

I am trying to get better at having “me” time. I signed up for a 1/2 marathon and am using my training runs to chill out and let my stress fade away with every footstep.
The website has some pretty cool features from a blog, vlog, and podcast! All of which I would read/watch/and listen to for great advice/information.
I try to find balance by giving myself some time every day that’s just for me.

I guess the thing that I try to do to maintain balance is to try to take time for myself. Even if it is just 25 minutes with my laptop and a cup of coffee it really helps me keep it together.
To maintain balance, once in a while I have some me time. Last week, after the girls were asleep, I met a friend for a few margaritas. Guilt? Sure, but my husband was just fine and the girls didn’t even wake up!

I like to read when the kids are in bed. I usually finish a few books per week.
I also like to Jazzercise.
Every night, after my daughter goes to bed and my other half is falling asleep, I read. Sometimes it’s for five min before I pass out, but I need that time for Mommy
I read and I blog!
To try to maintain balance, I be sure to take time for myself to do something just for ME. Not for my kids, not for my job, not for my husband, not for my house.
My friends and I meet once a week for breakfast without kids. It is a great time to renew our spirits through friendship. aewalls425@hotmail.com
I try and take time out to just relax and read a book for a short time each evening after the kids are in bed — it’s my time to recharge!

Music. I need music. I know it sounds weird, but listening to my favorite music centers me and gives me the motivation I need to face another day.
I try to take out time for myself.
The Go-To Mom site could help me by providing parenting tips and advice.
I *try* to shave my legs at least once a month. How does that even happen?
I also spend time during the evening reading while I drop hints that the spouse should give the kinder a bath. It works.
Walking is how I maintain balance. Four kids and a husband and 3 dogs. I need my walking time for one hour a day-7 days a week. Everyone in my family gets it when Mom says she is going walking. I come back ready to handle anything.

I maintain balance by sleeping. Not normal I know…but when you sleep, there are no worries, it is quiet, you are not hot or cold…it is just wonderful
